Elegant home built in 1884, with 5 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms on 26.940 sqft lot. Out buildings include a 2 car garage, workshop and a small tractor garage. This home has charm, his and her parlor living rooms, one with a stunning fireplace centerpiece. Hardwood floors, large wood windows, high ceiling in living area. Own a piece of Hudson History!
Welcome to Twin Oaks, the original home of the owner of the
Hudson Hodgson Mill in the mid 1800's.
Walk through the solid wood front door to a large entrance
room where, in days gone past, visitors were seated until
the family would receive them.
Once accepted the guests would be greeted in adjoining two
formal living rooms, which at one time were separated by
thick curtains for private encounters. The larger of the
two rooms features a stunning fireplace with its original
heart shaped ceramics.
There is spacious formal dining room that surely saw many
large dinner parties through the years.
At some point in the homes history a large extension was
added to hold a full kitchen, family room, veranda, mud
room, powder room and a laundry room on the main floor. As
well as a 4th and 5th bedroom on the second floor.
Upstairs the original wide plank floors have been painted
to give a cottage feel to its rooms.
The original tall wood double windows are still in great
shape but just need a bit of paint to show their beauty.
The two full bathrooms upstairs also need updating.
There are three outbuildings including the original two
storey barn, which has been converted to a 2 car garage and
a storage or teenager hangout on the second floor. For the
handyman or artist there is a full workshop plus a small
garage for the lawn tractor.
The backyard is very private with no rear neighbors. Plenty
of room for a pool !
Truly a beautiful home steeped in history.
